Identity!!!!!
this is the new subject in exploring at the moment. ive been pondering the subject around in my head for a while and the journal idea came to me whilst eating grapes.
i kinda feel i have lost my identity (for many reasons) so wanted to play around with why and how in art.
Our us hijabi`s all the same ?? well no were not but how can i express who i am if im covered up and told to dull everything about me DOWN!
i dont want to be defined by a headscarf, i don't want people to just think, "oh no just another muslim" and that i have no substance, i am a deep person and i have many stories to share and tell,
so the grapes triggered something. i was looking at them, and they are all the same, yes some are slightly different shape and size but they are the same. so i messed around with the idea of a grape as a head and included fingerprints. the final painting isnt finished im just seeing where it goes.

cute little children`s mosque/arabian collage paintings
Ok so this sunday is the women only indoor market. so ive been painting like mad in order to finish paintings so i can sell them. Ive been working on cute mini canvases with little mosque/arabian tower theme. using my favourite colour at the moment which is jamaican sea 320 by folk art acrylic paint.
So i made the buildings from urdu newspapers, and used gold leaf for the domes. Also i used the urdu for the cute little bunting flags at the top too.
im in love with the buttons everywhere, and the flowers and hearts helped bring it all together. i want to keep them all, cant wait to share them with my customers.
